My Story

I was diagnosed with Stage 3 Her2 positive breast cancer Dec. 27th, 2011. I had three large tumors in my left breast, I also had two positive lymph nodes and so with 5 positive biopsies I started my journey. In the beginning, it was a whirlwind and within a week, I was getting a port and preparing for chemo and the rush to save my life was on. Eight months later (August 20th) after stopping chemo (12 sessions) and not having surgery (a suggested double mastectomy) or radiation like my doctors wanted me to, I sat at Cancer Treatment Centers of America in Illinois and heard the results of a mammogram, MRI, Pet Scan and blood tests were that they could find no cancer in my body. The nurses and doctors were baffled and no one could explain how I could have had this terrible cancer and it was now gone, except for me. I said the Lord healed me through prayers, education, diet and supplements. I started this blog when I was first diagnosed, it is not just about on cancer, but my life and day-to-day thoughts and activities. There are suggested websites, blogs, videos and more here that I believe can benefit those dealing with cancer and those who want to be preventative. My hope is that you and yours will learn, be encouraged and healed. My family prays every night for those with cancer and that you will be not only be healed but that you will live long and happy lives.

Love and Blessings on your journey.

February 1, 2012 - Requests

Karri’s crazy wish list for 2 – 1 – 12
1. I want a kitty. We have been looking at caps and Petsmart but haven’t found one. I would love to have a cute an affectionate kitty by my side as I lay in bed with chemo side effects for days sometimes. In fact we went this week to look and instead came home with a late birthday present for Hope, a Robo dwarf hamster and as cute and furry as he is, it just isn’t the same. If anyone knows about a little kitty that needs a home , preferably with blue eyes, please let me know.

2. I need old V neck T -shirts for chemo. Because I am young , my surgeon placed my chemo port over to the right further than usual, so I wouldn’t have a scar on my chest where people could see it, and so they want me to wear these shirts for chemo, but between gel and sprays and such it can be a gross old shirt as I only need it for the time there.

3. Since I am giving up my Kiering coffee pot – (Cancer reasons – I can only drink organic decaf) I need to sell it and also get a regular coffee pot. If anyone would like to make a deal or give me their old coffee pot in a trade that would be great! Make me an offer on the Kiering – I also have the carousel that holds the individual coffees.

4. Smoothie recipes that do not have greens in them for now as my doctor wants me to stay away from them until I can get my digestive issues figured out.

5. Jokes and funny things that will make me smile and laugh.

So that’s it. Thanks in advance for any help in these areas.

Blessings
Karri
