My Story

I was diagnosed with Stage 3 Her2 positive breast cancer Dec. 27th, 2011. I had three large tumors in my left breast, I also had two positive lymph nodes and so with 5 positive biopsies I started my journey. In the beginning, it was a whirlwind and within a week, I was getting a port and preparing for chemo and the rush to save my life was on. Eight months later (August 20th) after stopping chemo (12 sessions) and not having surgery (a suggested double mastectomy) or radiation like my doctors wanted me to, I sat at Cancer Treatment Centers of America in Illinois and heard the results of a mammogram, MRI, Pet Scan and blood tests were that they could find no cancer in my body. The nurses and doctors were baffled and no one could explain how I could have had this terrible cancer and it was now gone, except for me. I said the Lord healed me through prayers, education, diet and supplements. I started this blog when I was first diagnosed, it is not just about on cancer, but my life and day-to-day thoughts and activities. There are suggested websites, blogs, videos and more here that I believe can benefit those dealing with cancer and those who want to be preventative. My hope is that you and yours will learn, be encouraged and healed. My family prays every night for those with cancer and that you will be not only be healed but that you will live long and happy lives.

Love and Blessings on your journey.

Water Fast Update - March 14, 2013

So I have been doing pretty darn good considering I have not really eaten for the last 4 days. I just weighed myself and I weigh 171 which is down 2 lbs from the start weight of 173, however I went from a switched from an old school scale to a digital and so it could be off a bit. Here are the tricks I have been using to help myself.

I drink Sparklett’s cold water from the water cooler in our kitchen. It’s better than Houston tap water.

I have been drinking teas  - I have a ton of great flavors and I went to buy even more

I have been drinking coconut water and a couple flavored waters.

I have been staying very busy and as long as I am not wasting time like watching TV I’m okay. I have spent time looking at cookbooks and making food, but as long as I think of it as food for someone else it helps.
I have had some organic pinto bean chips – about 2 a day

I did also have a handful of popcorn and 1 healthy energy ball that I made ( recipe below) and then I  gave myself grace and kept going instead of being all or nothing and quitting.

I bought cinnamon flavored tea tree toothpicks to chew on and Bach Rescue Pastilles in black currant flavor to suck on. I got them both at Whole Foods and they easily fit into my purse if I get the desire to eat.

I try to enjoy other things instead of mindlessly eating - reading outside, yummy scented candles, and good organic lotions help me out when I am feeling a bit frustrated or stressed.

I’m still taking all my supplements and so that is giving me  energy and nutrients.

So that’s about it. If anyone else is interested in flushing toxins out of their bodies through a water fast, maybe some of these hints will help.

No Bake Energy Bar Recipe:

3 cups of raw oatmeal
2-3 cups of organic peanut butter
1 1/2 cups sugar free shredded coconut
½ cup Chia seeds
½ cup flax seed
1 cup diced dates
1 cup of pinapples
1 cup dried cherries
½ cup of chocolate chips
½ cup sunflower seeds
Agave or honey to mix

Mix it all in a bowl with your hands and us the agave or honey and more peanut butter if needed to make the balls and then stick them in the fridge for about 1 hours and they are ready to go. Of course you can add different ingredients and delete the chocolate to make them even healthier. My kids like these and so I’m going to try to make some different variations too.

Take care
Blessings
