My Story

I was diagnosed with Stage 3 Her2 positive breast cancer Dec. 27th, 2011. I had three large tumors in my left breast, I also had two positive lymph nodes and so with 5 positive biopsies I started my journey. In the beginning, it was a whirlwind and within a week, I was getting a port and preparing for chemo and the rush to save my life was on. Eight months later (August 20th) after stopping chemo (12 sessions) and not having surgery (a suggested double mastectomy) or radiation like my doctors wanted me to, I sat at Cancer Treatment Centers of America in Illinois and heard the results of a mammogram, MRI, Pet Scan and blood tests were that they could find no cancer in my body. The nurses and doctors were baffled and no one could explain how I could have had this terrible cancer and it was now gone, except for me. I said the Lord healed me through prayers, education, diet and supplements. I started this blog when I was first diagnosed, it is not just about on cancer, but my life and day-to-day thoughts and activities. There are suggested websites, blogs, videos and more here that I believe can benefit those dealing with cancer and those who want to be preventative. My hope is that you and yours will learn, be encouraged and healed. My family prays every night for those with cancer and that you will be not only be healed but that you will live long and happy lives.

Love and Blessings on your journey.

Latest News, Many blessings - March 19, 2012

So things have been go, go, go around here lately.  Here’s what’s happening today. I have chemo with the steroid again this morning and H2 and h3 are going to Taste of Texas for a field trip. Monica is watch some kids here at the house or at her house from 10 – 2 and Kristen a will be my afternoon chemo helper. I have about 6 loads of laundry to catch up on and there are books everywhere, so help will be nice especially after chemo. I am so grateful to everyone for all their help and prayers.

A Sunday school class from Kingsland Baptist is putting in a really nice fence around our pool which is great considering we have lived here almost 4 years and haven’t had it done this will give me much more peace and allow the kids to play in the backyard without someone watching their every move. What a huge blessing! The people working are so sweet and my kids had fun playing with some of their children yesterday. I’ll send a picture when it’s done.
Hannah (14) was accepted to go on the mission trip to Estella, Spain with our church youth group to work at a youth camp. She will be gone from June 20th – July 9th and so we are very excited about that and are trying to raise fund for her. She needs around $2000 and has already started working towards it. Yesterday she was able to clean Amanda’s home for $100, and on Saturday she took down some wisteria with Holly and Mark and she made $150, along with Holly making the same! If only we can keep up these jobs and donations then she’s be fine. If you have any work for her or would like to contribute to this worthwhile cause, please let us know.

It looks as though we may get a French au pair for 4 – 6 weeks this summer and that is quite exciting!  She is working on her language and wants to also do non- profit work which is terrific since I am starting up two new programs. We are discussing things via e-mail right now and so we’ll see. Please pray this will work out if it’s the Lord will.
I am working a lot on the plans for the new University Model School and the elementary programs that are to start up in Sept. this is quite a logistical nightmare when trying to get chemo and surgery in possibly. I am super blessed because I have many people that want to help out and are excited along with me. I trust that the Lord and strong provider will take care of what I can’t since He has me going down this road. I am happy that working on something I am passionate about energizes me instead of wearing me down.  Mark is trying to clean- up a laptop that he bought from his company for $20 so that I can work more from bed or chemo and that will make things easier.

I guess that’s it for now. I hope you have great day!

  1. Are you running for President in your spare time? You and I are cut from the same cloth my friend! As a dear friend reminded me this week, "take time to recharge the batteries Energizer Bunny"! I took her advice and am reaping the rewards! Hugs!
