My Story

I was diagnosed with Stage 3 Her2 positive breast cancer Dec. 27th, 2011. I had three large tumors in my left breast, I also had two positive lymph nodes and so with 5 positive biopsies I started my journey. In the beginning, it was a whirlwind and within a week, I was getting a port and preparing for chemo and the rush to save my life was on. Eight months later (August 20th) after stopping chemo (12 sessions) and not having surgery (a suggested double mastectomy) or radiation like my doctors wanted me to, I sat at Cancer Treatment Centers of America in Illinois and heard the results of a mammogram, MRI, Pet Scan and blood tests were that they could find no cancer in my body. The nurses and doctors were baffled and no one could explain how I could have had this terrible cancer and it was now gone, except for me. I said the Lord healed me through prayers, education, diet and supplements. I started this blog when I was first diagnosed, it is not just about on cancer, but my life and day-to-day thoughts and activities. There are suggested websites, blogs, videos and more here that I believe can benefit those dealing with cancer and those who want to be preventative. My hope is that you and yours will learn, be encouraged and healed. My family prays every night for those with cancer and that you will be not only be healed but that you will live long and happy lives.

Love and Blessings on your journey.

Good News & Prayer Request - March 7, 2012

So, I had chemo on Monday and then on Tuesday morning, I got a call from the doctor’s office with some great news! My WBC count was at all - time high since starting chemo! A 7.4 which basically means that my immune system is working at 74%! So I didn’t need to get my shot! God is so good. I hosted a small meeting last night and I was able to pull it off and stay on target and such because I didn’t have any pain or weakness. Good prayers, good conversations and a great place to be in life where I am so trusting in the Lord for everything. I know He has me where He has me for His infinite plan and purpose and even though I don’t understand it completely. I am so trusting of my incredible God that I will serve and do what He has called me to do even if I can see exactly where I am headed.

Please pray for the following:

Kim - Recovering from her major surgery (double mastecomy and reconstruction in one)

Mary - The woman that I met at Chuckie Cheese (stage 3 breast cancer triple negative) is having surgery on Thursday morning at 8:00 to remove one of her breasts. Her chemo actually stopped working and they are going this route now. This is very scary for her as her scheduled surgery wasn't until May. She is from Georgia and has a 6 month old, 8 year old and a 16 year old - all boys.

Debbie - Another friend that has a breast infection and is needing prayers for healing and recovery.

David - My friend Susanna's husband. He has a rare cancer and is going through treatment with stem cells and chemo.
