My Story

I was diagnosed with Stage 3 Her2 positive breast cancer Dec. 27th, 2011. I had three large tumors in my left breast, I also had two positive lymph nodes and so with 5 positive biopsies I started my journey. In the beginning, it was a whirlwind and within a week, I was getting a port and preparing for chemo and the rush to save my life was on. Eight months later (August 20th) after stopping chemo (12 sessions) and not having surgery (a suggested double mastectomy) or radiation like my doctors wanted me to, I sat at Cancer Treatment Centers of America in Illinois and heard the results of a mammogram, MRI, Pet Scan and blood tests were that they could find no cancer in my body. The nurses and doctors were baffled and no one could explain how I could have had this terrible cancer and it was now gone, except for me. I said the Lord healed me through prayers, education, diet and supplements. I started this blog when I was first diagnosed, it is not just about on cancer, but my life and day-to-day thoughts and activities. There are suggested websites, blogs, videos and more here that I believe can benefit those dealing with cancer and those who want to be preventative. My hope is that you and yours will learn, be encouraged and healed. My family prays every night for those with cancer and that you will be not only be healed but that you will live long and happy lives.

Love and Blessings on your journey.

Getting Better - Feb 15, 2012

On Tuesday I found out that my WBC had jumped from 3.4 - 5.5! That is amazing and even the oncologist was shocked! On top of that my PH level this morning is a 6.8, the highest it has been since I started with the holistic doctor. When I spoke to my current oncologist, she said I could skip chemo and the shot altogether this week if I would sign a paper saying that I am doing things a bit different that the "standard protocol."

Now this doesn't mean that I won't still do chemo again, shots, surgery, radiation and all the drugs to handle all of the side effects; this means is that we are thinking and praying about each step. This morning instead of chemo, I will go in for an ultrasound and see a comparative study of the previous films and today’s by Thursday! I think and believe that they will be totally amazed by the improvement. I feel much better taking my own life and calling the shots a bit more. I know those that know me well, aren’t surprised a bit by my wanting to rock the boat for what I believe to be the right thing.

Our current plan is to get the ultrasound done this morning at 9:30, and then get the results on Thursday and go from there. We will pray at each decision point instead of just going through the motions of life and relying on man.

Here are some amazing Bible verses for the day, stop and read them slowly, they are true!
·         He is the Rock, his works are perfect, and all his ways are just. A faithful God who does no wrong, upright and just is he. Deuteronomy 32:4
·         Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding;
in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight. Proverbs 3:5-6

·         Fear of man will prove to be a snare, but whoever trusts in the LORD is kept safe. Proverbs 29:25
·         Pray and ask god for everything you need, always giving thanks. Philippians 4:6
·         God will always give what is right to his people who cry to him night and day, and he will not be slow to answer them. Luke 18:7

Please pray that His voice will be heard easily, and His hand felt guiding us gently.

Blessings,
Karri

  1. Glad to hear you get a break from chemo today. I'll be praying for the Lord to lead you as you take control of your treatment and of course for healing!
